Temporary e-Stang Charging Process 8/25/2020 Temporary switches are located under hood on radiator box. To Start Charging: 1. Open hood. 2. Switch the mode switch to NEUT. 3. Switch the C switch off, away from the C. 4. Switch the D switch off, away from the D. 5. Turn on ignition. Wait for green light to go on. 6. Switch the C switch on, towards the C. The loud rear main contactor should go on. 7. Plug in charger. 8. Switch mode switch to CHG. Fans should go on and car should start charging. To Stop Charging: 1. Switch mode switch to NEUT. Charging should stop if not done already, although fans may keep going if charger is warm. 2. Unplug charger. 3. Switch the C switch off. To Start Driving: 1. Open hood. 2. Switch the mode switch to NEUT. 3. Switch the C switch off, away from the C. 4. Switch the D switch off, away from the D. 5. Turn on ignition. Wait for green light to go on. 6. Switch the D switch on, towards the D. The loud rear main contactor should go on. 7. Switch mode switch to DRV. The quieter front main contactor should go on after a few seconds, and you should hear the buzzing noise of the motor contorller. 8. Close hood. To Stop Driving: 1. Turn ignition off. 2. Open hood. 3. Switch mode switch to NEUT. 4. Switch the D switch off. Notes: - BMS Battery OK signal BOK wire 17 on loom at the radiator box is split to both green light wire 46 and to switch C normally open terminal. Green signal wire 46 from radiator not connected. BMS has full control of green light. - Power on signal 12B wire 15 from the radiator box is split to both the loom to drive the rear contactor precharge and to switch D normally open terminal. - BOK wire 17 on radiator box connected to both switches C and D common terminals. - Mode switch now is 3 way with neutral.
